Professional Development

Derco takes professional development and education very seriously. In addition to a world-class employee scholar program, we have a dedicated training staff and onsite training facility. We work hard to identify training and development opportunities to ensure every employee has the skills needed to excel in their current assignments and prepare for future growth opportunities. 

Employee Scholar Program
Derco pays 100 percent of the cost for employees who go back to school, including registration, tuition, academic fees, and books, all paid up front. You can enroll in classes to obtain a degree in any field, whether it is directly related to your job, and you can receive up to three hours per week paid time off to study. If you earn a degree, you will be awarded company stock - $5,000 for an associate degree and $10,000 for a bachelor degree and above.

Onsite Training Facility
Derco has a knowledgeable staff and facilities dedicated to onsite training. Examples of courses available include skills training in Microsoft Office products, supervisor and leadership training, team building, business practices, and tools for continuous process improvement.

Mentoring Program
Derco’s Mentoring Program provides you with the opportunity to participate in a formalized, yet self-driven, mentoring program as a mentor, mentee, or both. Every effort is made to pair individuals whose career paths and challenges have synergy so you can get the most out of the relationship.
