U.S. Government: Past Performance

Customer feedback is the best way of learning about a contractor and the level of performance provided. Two recent comments from a prime contractor supporting the Big Safari Program at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio and the Commander of the Defense Supply Center Richmond illustrate that working with Derco Aerospace, Inc. results in a job well done.

"Please accept my sincere thanks for a super job of support!!"

Superior Past Performance:
Past performance is an indication of how well a contractor performs.

Derco’s solutions help its customers meet mission requirements through improving customer service, reducing operational costs, inventory, and cost of ownership. The performance on the following active programs attests to superior past performance of Derco.

CCAD Technical, Engineering, Logistics and Services (TELS) Contract
Inventory accuracy rate of 99.9%, 286% increase in component production and 242% increase in airframe production due to Derco’s performance.

Overview:
Derco and Sikorsky manage all identified part numbers as well as the forecasting and purchasing of Material and Technical Services directly from third party suppliers.
Derco maintains a warehouse including the entire required infrastructure to support material handling, storage, kitting, and reporting requirements for all designated part numbers related to Sikorsky’s CCAD TELS program. In addition to warehousing of Contractor Furnished Material (CFM), Derco manages Government Furnished Material (GFM) accounts for CCAD, AMCOM B17, AMCOM PM RECAP UH-60 22A, and AMCOM PM RECAP UH-60 Safety Stock. Derco maintains a delivery and inventory accuracy of a near perfect 99.9% on all material requisitions filled to support CCAD. Over 5,800 GFM parts are managed in support of the H-60, as well as 65 PRONs for kitting activity. Derco supports efforts to implement continuous improvement initiatives including: Replenishing shop floor bin stock material so artisan hardware needs are always met; Performing operational reporting necessary to manage supply chain requirements; Establishing an AOG and priority delivery process to reduce aircraft and production down time for material; Supporting weekly backorder review meetings with the metrics necessary to ensure visibility of all backorders, and to secure delivery commitments from supply sources.

54H60 Propeller Virtual Prime Vendor (VPV) Program
Derco is a subcontractor to Hamilton Sundstrand on this Virtual Prime Vendor (VPV) contract to manage the supplier base and fulfillment of all customer requisitions for piece parts and rotable assets for the 54H60 propeller system. This is the propeller assembly for most P-3 and C-130 aircraft.

Derco is responsible for both Government Furnished Material (GFM) and Contractor Furnished Material (CFM) stock. Derco has a dedicated staff who manages this program. Derco uses DLA forecasts, historical usage, MTBF analysis, and vendor history to manage the program MRP. Derco buyers then contract with approved Hamilton Sundstrand sources of supply to provide the requisite piece parts. Upon receipt all parts are inducted through Derco’s ISO 9001 certified quality assurance procedures, which include inspection and validation. Derco warehouses the parts segregating government owned material in accordance with government property control procedures. This major subcontract requires engagement of the using community, DSC Richmond, Hamilton Sundstrand, and Derco.

H-60 MHSCO Program

Under this U.S. Navy H-60 helicopter performance based logistics (PBL) program, Derco is a subcontractor to the Maritime Helicopter Support Company (MHSCo), a joint venture of Lockheed Martin and Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation. Derco manages component repairs from several subcontractors under various pricing methodologies including power-by-the-hour. The “fill rate” for the program is being exceeded showing that Derco’s mature processes and procedures for vendor management, planning and forecasting pay dividends to the U.S. Navy customer in better helicopter availability.

T-34/T-44 Program

Sikorsky Support Services, Inc. (SSSI) recently awarded Derco a subcontract in support of the U.S. Navy T-34/T-44/T-6A Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) Program. Derco provides spares support and repair and overhaul management at Whiting Field, FL and Corpus Christi, TX. Demonstrating its flexibility and responsiveness, Derco stood up this program, which included complex IT solutions, within thirty days.
