Platform Capabilities: Military Fixed-Wing: Services: Licensed Parts Manufacturing
The Derco mission has always put the customer first. Developing solutions to help customers with growing or future problems is one of the ways Derco meets customer requirements. Two well-known industry issues related to aging aircraft are obsolescence and dwindling sources of supply; and because many aging aircraft are no longer in production, but still highly valued and capable machines, Derco maintains relationships with more than 45 of the industry’s leading OEMs and subsystem manufacturers.
With respect to platform support, the penultimate of these relationships are license agreements with The Boeing Company and Northrup Grumman. These companies have licensed Derco to produce and supply parts for the A-4 and F-4, and F-5 and T-38 aircraft. Providing licensed parts for these mature platforms is just one of the many services Derco offers customers who continue flying these valuable tactical assets.
F-4, A-4 Boeing Derco – Boeing Licensing Agreement
Since 1996, Derco has been licensed by The Boeing Company to provide aftermarket parts support for the F-4 Phantom and A-4 Skyhawk. The license provides Derco with the necessary intellectual property and Boeing authorizations to manufacture parts much like McDonnell Douglas did in the production heyday of these venerable aircraft. Parts supplied by Derco under the Boeing license allow customers to utilize “new build” parts to support ongoing maintenance requirements and eliminate risk and administration associated with the use of surplus or previously used parts.
F-5, T-38 Northrop Derco – Northrop Grumman Licensing Agreement
Through a license arrangement with the Northrop Grumman Corporation, Derco continues to offer comprehensive logistics options in support of the F-5 Freedom Fighter/Tiger and T-38 Talon operators around the world. Derco’s mission is to bring exceptional customer service and logistics support to the F-5 and T-38 community by offering spares, inventory, and manufacturing services to meet demands. This license agreement offers Derco’s worldwide customers an affordable “one-stop” parts source. Derco's enhanced logistics offerings include managing, manufacturing, supplying, and providing technical assistance for more than 5,000 Northrop Grumman parts, kits, and upgrades applicable to all variants of the aircraft. The Northrop Grumman license and Derco’s existing relationships with more than 45 of the industry's leading OEMs gives Derco the ability to support the F-5 and T-38 with one of the largest inventories of F-5 parts available.
