The willingness of federal agencies to enter into partnerships or alliances with contractors speaks to the integrity, performance and capability of a contractor.
The Defense Supply Center Richmond (DSCR) has asked Derco to join an alliance through an Aerospace Supply Chain Alliance (SCA) to establish a business framework to enhance performance and provide the warfighter the supplies and services needed at the right time and at the right price. The SCA between the DLA and Derco allows for collaborative forecasting and improved logistics support to the fleets including improving communications, logistics support, procurement, quality, program management, engineering, and program integration. The goal - improve support to the warfighter while setting improvement initiatives that are beneficial to both parties.
The SCA also provides many advantages to second and third tier suppliers through Derco. Getting long-term contracts in place for multiple line items reduces administrative lead-time (ALT) and contract acquisition lead-time (CALT) for the government, the respective OEM and Derco and its suppliers. The result is increased efficiencies and value to all parties, including the warfighter.
