Supplier Guidelines
Derco Aerospace and Repairs Services' products and services have earned a worldwide reputation for the highest standards of quality and reliability. To maintain this reputation, Derco embraces the philosophy of continuous improvement and understands that its suppliers are critical to upholding that reputation as well.
Derco’s Supplier Quality Manual ensures that Derco suppliers comply with the requirements stated on Derco’s POs and applicable commercial and military standards (e.g. FAA, ISO 9001:2000, AS 9100). These requirements are necessary to ensue that material delivered to Derco by its suppliers will meet or exceed required quality levels. The requirements, as listed, are based on a defect prevention system, which improves quality, lowers cost, and increases productivity.
Additionally, it makes certain that suppliers use appropriate packaging methods, ensuring packages will not be damaged during transit.
Surveys and Source Inspections
Derco’s Quality Assurance personnel evaluate suppliers’ ability to produce required products that will meet the requirements of the drawing, print, or other specifications, as well as the suppliers’ ability to deliver products with zero defects. This evaluation may include on-site evaluations, part performance evaluations, and surveys.
Additionally, source inspections may be performed at the supplier’s plant by either Derco or its designated representative. The source inspector will verify that the material to be shipped complies with the requirements in the purchase order and the drawing or specification. Derco suppliers provide required inspection information and manufacturing documentation to provide evidence of control and accessibility. Suppliers provide required inspection/test equipment and personnel to permit the source inspector to verify inspection results.
