Derco Aerospace signed an agreement to distribute ASB Avionics’ HF Shunt Antenna upgrade and an avionics upgrade, both products for C-130 and L-100 aircraft.
Applicable to any C-130 or L-100 equipped with an HF long wire antenna, the HF Shunt Antenna upgrade (Supplemental Type Certificate – STC ST01574LA) is integrated into the aircraft’s dorsal fin, eliminating the need for the long wire and improving the reliability of the HF system.

M1 Support Services awarded Derco a sub-contract to help develop a methodology for integrating Point of Use (POU) task kits into the High Velocity Maintenance (HVM) process at Warner Robins Air Logistics Center.
M1 and Derco will develop processes, standard work, and documentation for integrating kit content from existing government and contractor sources with components for WR-ALC C-130 Programmed Depot Maintenance (PDM). With this kitting capability in place, material will be pre-positioned and available to the technician at the aircraft, shortening the amount of time aircraft remain in the maintenance process.

Although C-130 and fighter operators often outsource their depot level maintenance and repair activities, they would have greater control over the repair of critical systems and components, reduce maintenance cost, and increase overall efficiency if this capability resided within their own operations.
